ABOUT us
-
We believe the Bible is God's Word to us and that it is powerful, beautiful, and true. Therefore, you can expect to hear from the Bible every week and in all of our ministries!
-
Worship is both an event and a lifestyle. Our entire lives are an act of worship, but worship is also something we come together to do on a weekly basis, called "church"!
-
We believe not only that God has spoken to us in his Word, but that he hears us in prayer. We are a church that gives our confessions, thanksgivings, and our requests to God!
-
We desire to make a generational impact on the city of Eugene and the University of Oregon campus. We believe that a healthy, multi-generational church is the best way to do that!
-
The Bible says to "welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you." Generations Church is diverse in many ways, and our doors are open wide to all kinds of people!
-
We unapologetically want to focus on those who are disconnected from God and unfamiliar with the church. The most important person at Generations is the person who isn't there yet!
Values
-
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 30:5, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, John 17:17, Isaiah 40:8, 2 Peter 1:21, Psalm 119:89
-
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in perfection, yet distinct.
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, eternal, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal, second person of the Trinity, God’s only begotten Son.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin and who indwells and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:26, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Psalm 68:5, Matthew 5:48, Colossians 1:15, John 16:7-15, Ephesians 1:13, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, Zechariah 4:6, Romans 8:14, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Job 33:4
-
We believe every person is created in the image of God and therefore every human life has inherent dignity, worth, and value without exception. At the same time, we believe that sin has affected every part of our lives, separating us from God and distorting His design for us.
We believe God created humanity as male and female, equal in value and distinct by design, and that these two complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman as defined by Scripture and that sexuality is a gift from God, designed to be expressed only within that covenant of marriage.
We believe that life is a precious gift, that human life begins at conception, and that the unborn are known and valued by God. We care deeply about protecting human life, pursuing racial unity, and treating every person with compassion, dignity, and respect, and we are committed to being a church where people can take honest steps toward Jesus, no matter their story.
Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 5:1, Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13-14, Romans 3:23, Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:2-9, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Ephesians 2:10, Galatians 3:28
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man.
We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe that He died in our place as a substitute for our sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father, interceding for His people.
We believe that through Him alone we are reconciled to God, and that He will personally and visibly return to establish His kingdom.
Colossians 1:15, Matthew 1:18-25, Isaiah 7:14, Hebrews 4:14-15, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Acts 10:38, Hebrews 1:1-4, Revelation 1:7, Acts 1:10-11, Titus 3:5-6
-
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, separated from God and unable to save themselves. But God, in His love, sent His Son Jesus Christ to live a sinless life and to die in our place, bearing the penalty for our sin through His death on the cross.
We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. When a person turns from sin and trusts in Him, they are forgiven, made new, and brought into a restored relationship with God. This salvation is not earned by good works, but it results in a transformed life empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Titus 3:5, Ezekiel 36:26, 1 John 3:9, 1 Peter 1:23, Ephesians 2:8, 1 Peter 2:3, Galatians 2:20, Romans 8:15, Jeremiah 24:7, Romans 3:23-26, Romans 6:5-11
-
We believe in the local church, consisting of a gathering of believers in Jesus Christ, united for worship, service and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of glorifying God through advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ in a lost and dying world.
We believe that Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is the immersion of a confessing believer into water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ to remember His death on the cross and its implications for our lives. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

-
We believe in the Kingdom of God and His final reign over all things. At present, Christians live under God’s rule while we wait for the fullness of God’s Kingdom to be revealed at the return of Jesus. When He returns, He will judge all mankind in righteousness. The unrighteous will face eternal judgment in Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous, in their resurrected and glorified bodies, will dwell forever with Christ in the new heavens and new earth.
