GENERAL FUND GIVING

The “General Fund” is the primary fund for ongoing tithes and offerings to Generations Church. We ask all of our regular attenders to give in this way. This fund goes to support the ongoing expenses of our church, including facilities, ministry expenses, staffing, and missions. If you’re new to giving and not sure where to start, this is where you start!

  • FUTURE BUILDING FUND

    The Future Building Fund is a way for our church to begin preparing for a permanent home. While we don’t have a building campaign or a timeline yet, we believe God is leading us toward a future space that will serve our church and our city well. Gifts to this fund will be set aside for that purpose—helping us be ready when the right opportunity comes. Your generosity today helps lay the foundation for what God may do tomorrow.

  • BENEVOLENCE FUND

    The Benevolence Fund allows us to meet tangible, short-term needs in our church and our community. Through this fund, we’re able to care for people within our church family and also partner with trusted local organizations that serve vulnerable individuals and families throughout Lane County. Your generosity to this fund enables us to respond quickly and compassionately when needs arise.

  • IMPACT OFFERING

    The Impact Offering is an annual generosity initiative at Generations Church. Together, we identify one or two high-impact ministry opportunities (locally, nationally, or globally) that we want to support as a church. Last year, we supported several new church plants around the country and Love for Lane County right here in our community. This year (2026), every gift given to the Impact Offering will go directly toward the Salt Company campus ministry.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • There are 3 ways to think about why you should give: for God, for others, and for you. 

    First, we give to obey God, who commands us to be generous (Luke 6:38, Matthew 6:19-21, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, 1 Timothy 6:17-19, Hebrews 13:16). Giving to your local church is one of the clearest ways we honor Him as our provider and King. 

    Second, we give for others because generosity advances the gospel, strengthens the church, cares for the vulnerable, and funds ministry that changes lives. Your generosity to this church fuels the mission of God in our city and beyond. 

    And third, we give because generosity transforms our heart, reshapes our identity, and multiplies our joy. Giving isn’t just about church budgets, it’s about spiritual formation. In other words, giving isn’t just something God wants from you: it’s something he wants for you.

  • “Tithing” is sometimes used synonymously with “giving,” but actually tithing is a technical term that means “tenth” or 10%. The practice of tithing is when you give 10% of your household income to your local church. 

    In the Old Testament, tithing was a foundational rhythm for God’s people; giving the first portion, not the leftovers, to God as an act of trust and worship (Proverbs 3:9-10). In the New Testament Jesus honors the practice of tithing (Matthew 23:23), but does not explicitly require it. However, if anything, the generosity of the early church went far beyond tithing (Luke 19:8, Acts 4:36-37).

    Because of this, we see 10% as a helpful, biblical benchmark of intentional, proportional giving for anybody who desires to follow Jesus.

  • Ministry costs money. Not because the church is a business, but because the mission requires resources. Your generosity supports the everyday ministry of our church: staff, facilities, rentals, kids and student ministry, outreach, benevolence, discipleship, church planting, and more. It allows us to serve our city faithfully and send support beyond our city consistently. From the beginning, we’ve also committed to giving at least 10% of what we receive outward to missions and new churches. In short, your generosity fuels gospel work locally and globally, and we are committed to handling it with transparency, accountability, and integrity.

  • You can view and download your giving statement by logging into your PushPay account (Click here). Click on giving history to access your statement. If you have trouble or need it sent directly to you for any reason, email Kendra (kendra@generationseugene.com).

  • We would recommend online, but whatever is best for you is great for us! If you bring cash or check with you on Sunday, you can drop it in the buckets as they pass during the service or slip it in the black boxes at the exits.

  • Yes! Generations Church is currently approved to receive charitable funds! If you have any trouble finding us on your specific one, please reach out to Kendra (kendra@generationseugene.com) and we can initiate the process to get approved for additional charitable funds.
